Hi Sweet-peas.
Sorry I have been a little......well not feeling like posting, I just haven't felt like I have anything to say.
We have been so busy with sorting things out and adjusting to a new lifestyle in the country, its just so quiet and peaceful here. I have been missing friends, which was always going to be part of the process.
We did head into Dunedin last week for a few groceries, we packed our lunch tin and sat in the Octagon people watching. It was great to see all the busyness bustling around us, it really is a lovely city. I also had a wee op-shop and found a few treasures that I have been washing and repairing, so looking forward to showing you them soon.
I guess I am feeling a little flat, things have been a whirl wind of events for us and now its like "What next", I have so many ideas, I just need to get started.
I shall do as Mao pussycat has done and look for some light to get me underway.
love V
Firstly, xo
ReplyDeleteSecondly, you look amazing in your frock (but then you always look amazing - how do you do that???)
Thirdly, don't apologise for not feeling like posting. You've been through so much and settling into a new life in a new place takes time.
Fourthly, well I don't have a fourthly! Other than I love the look of your new home, it's truly a special place. And I love that you have a Mao (our meow is called Mao too, Mr Alfred Mao to be exact). I'm down in Chch this weekend and I shall miss what used to be my annual visit to your beautiful treasure troves. In saying that, I suspect one day your fabulous 'idea' whatever that may end up being will draw me down your way - because you can't keep a good vintage lover away.
Fifthly, xo - we have only had a few encounters, but you've always been wonderful and lovely and a total sweepea :)
Im not surprised you feel a little flat moving house is such a huge event in anyones life and you were traveling for ages before that to. Don't worry about not posting either its lovely to see you when you are able to. I am in the same place a little as you I haven't been in blogland again for a little while im hoping to try and get a post together this week. I have the opposite reason I have been so busy I don't know what to write about. You are looking as beautiful and cute as always love your dress. In the mean time just relax and enjoy your beautiful new home and your new life. hugs dee xx
ReplyDeleteLoving those interiors of your home.
ReplyDeleteIt feels so strange to see the Octagon and St. Paul's on someone's blog. I'm glad you are enjoying visiting Dunedin, it's a great place to be.
Hopefully you will find some inspiration soon I know what its like the feel like that after a busy time!

ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of your new home. That flat feeling is such a pain, but maybe you just need a rest after all the activity. X

Go easy on yourself sweetie, perhaps the reason you're feeling a little less like posting, is more a reflection of the changes recently. You say it's so quiet, maybe on an inner level your soul is seeking quiet it too. It's ok to only post when you feel you do have something to say.
ReplyDeleteYour time spent cleaning and repairing sounds much like mine at the moment. I'm finding quiet pleasure in those small tedious jobs.
I'm sorry to hear you have felt a little flat. I'm sure it is to be expected as you adjust to a big change with the move, especially after such a wonderful adventure. You look beautiful as always. I'm glad Dunedin isn't too far away, so you can escape to the city every now & then. Oh & a big thank you for the gorgeous card & wee brooch that was in the mail today. You made my day & I so appreciate you thinking of me! Xx
ReplyDeleteI felt flat after moving too, I think it's only natural after the high of moving and the adventures and all. It's nice just to take some time out and relax. Looks like you have a gorgeous setting on your doorstep though!
ReplyDeleteIt's not like you guys haven't been busy. It takes me months to settle when I move. Love lunch in the tin. I knew there was a reason I was saving them. My cats do the same thing, no matter how hot it is.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are as inspiring and gorgeous as ever! I'm not surprised you're feeling a bit flat what with the move and all your hard work, you'd never guess it from looking at you though!
ReplyDeleteMy brother was in Dunedin last week, too! i wonder if you passed each other! xxx
your dress is lovely . enjoy the calm. lucyx
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful as ALWAYS Miss V! I can understand feeling flat - I have that feeling quite a lot, when it happens I usually find myself a new challenge or something to look forward too. Dunedin is such a beautiful city - I haven't been there since I returned home 2 years ago, perhaps I should plan a holiday later this year. Look after yourself & keep positive:)
ReplyDeleteI always feel there's a bit of an anti-climax after you've been working towards something and then it's done and you feel at a bit of a loss for a little while.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to take a breather and sort your head out.
Anyway, you look fabulous with another lovely rosey floral dress.
Take care.
xx
I'm not surprised you are feeling how you are, you've been doing such massive life things. You need time for it all to settle and start to feel like you.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks lovely, as do you in your baby
blue dress with your puddy cat.
Looking forward to whatever you do next. xxx
You look so beautiful! I LOVE this dress, and the cardigan is so pretty. The tights are lovely, too. I need to pair some tights with my dresses, particularly in the cooler weather; I just adore them. And your beret is fabulous! :) I hope you get to feeling better; you are such a sweet soul! XO
ReplyDeleteO, sweetheart, it's a kind of grief, isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteNothing to do but ride the wave, trying to keep to the high points as much as possible. Getting the house together has been nicely distracting, I'm sure! You are going to be just fine, my sweet! You are such a ray of sunshine yourself that you will have no trouble bringing the light to you!
Much love! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Sometimes the calm and quiet can be unnerving!!! You have had such a whirlwind of a journey and yet another new one begins, Take all the time you need to just be in this moment, the path will appear before you soon enough.
ReplyDeleteSending out a big hug to that beautiful place you guys call home.
heart you!!!

Love your outfit and especially the background in that first photo. I wish you both a happy relaxing time.
ReplyDeleteI often think about your caravan journey through your lovely country New Zealand and it became a dream of me to do such a journey too some time in my life. But it has to be New Zealand too. So that journey will become a little bit expensive. Besides I think I can't get three months of free time. Maybe my dream must stay a dream. But it helps me to go on when times are sad or boring. Wish you the best, my dearest Vanessa!
Goodness, Vanessa, you have had such a busy time of it, and big decisions and moves to make, it isn't surprising at all that you might feel a wee bit tired and in need of quiet reflection. You always look beautiful, and show us gorgeous photos. You don't have to say anything, just let us gaze at your loveliness! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Pics! You got a great Blog. Would you like to follow each other?
ReplyDeleteJust let me know ;)
